Dramatical murder (no spoilers).
Apr. 1st, 2012 01:54 amI got my copy today, which is pretty awesome timing considering the whole being on Spring break thing. Who are we kidding, the timing is freakishly perfect. I used a proxy service (who were very reasonably priced) to get the limited edition from Animate because the most beautiful word in the Japanese is 特典. Animate's privileges were a drama CD and a freakish little calendar that lasts a million years with its adjustableness. That's not bad.
I considered not buying the game and just illegally pirating it when people managed to get on that, until they mentioned that the limited edition was a digipak and I was like "OK, LET'S PREORDER THIS RIGHT NOW." And really, that's for the best because now the security code has to be confirmed via the internet, so I'm pretty sure everyone and their mum can't use the same one. I have no sympathy for you because I'm through and that's all I care about.
Anyway, the digipak could be made of sturdier material; the cardboard is totally weaksauce. But I like the design; it feels very traditional, basically like the New Year's wallpaper. Most of the space is occupied by the foam insert that holds the key chain. For a digipak, I would have expected something has a chance of withstanding time, but otherwise I am satisfied with it.
The game's aspect ratio is in widescreen, and it's also bigger; no more 800x600 bullshit. The game itself is more animated than Nitro+Chiral's previous games; still in the crude kind of way, but they are moments of smooth animation as well. The OP was good, the song is annoyingly in my head right now. The music is... ok, I guess, because I really can't remember it right now.
You can totally bet that I cooed like a moron when Ren was introduced... and also that I then freaked the fuck out when he opened his eyes and spoke with his creepy, monotonous, deep voice.
I know I said nobody but Koujaku was going to get laid but I clearly lied. Noiz is much cuter than I expected, and Mink is totally the jerk option and we know I apparently pick that one all the time. Clear has the world's most irritating voice right now and I'm totally not feeling him at all so we'll see about him. But the best character in this game, besides Ren, is certainly AKUSHIMA! You can only admire a suspicious looking policeman who screams into his LASER-GUN MOUNTED MEGAPHONE that he's going to arrest/execute everyone in sight.
I am finally getting into something of an explanation about what the shit's going on but I'm done for today because it's been seven hours of it now and I am so tired. Of it, and in general. More tomorrow.
